I am transgender and also have delusional disorder. AMA!

Yes that others recognise my gender that way and act according to that, a bit stereotypical but it happens. Yep probably no positive aspects for women, cant argue against that. I think it can potentially be a birth defect but not in every single case, I think its definitely generally believed within the transgender community more so than wider society though. I hope more research is done in order to clarify things for both transgender and non transgender people.

I wouldnt know how someone could be born to oppose their gender though, as people would need more knowledge around it than what a baby would have in order to be able to oppose it. Even if its true that it can be a birth defect, I think thered have to be some extra awareness in order for the person to fully realise their situation. I think that stereotypically men and women can be psychologically different, I've certainly noticed changes psychologically from taking hormones which can be stereotypically associated as male traits. I did actually mean a disconnect though due to environmental reasons e.g sexual abuse, disorders involving disassociation etc.

I can see what you mean but the distress associated with Gender Dysphoria isnt just general distress but rather specifically distress that their body isn't that of the opposite gender. So I could've been significantly distressed by my female body because I didnt like that I had big hips for example, but that wouldn't mean I was transgender or had Gender Dysphoria. Instead I had significant stress of my female body because it wasnt a male body, which is specific to Gender Dysphoria.

I think that maybe the lengthy existence has contributed to it being more accepted over there. Theres possibly areas in Asia where its safer to be transgender than some western areas.

Yeah possibly 4 year olds are at the beginning of that introduction of them types of things, but perhaps that is exactly how they've come to 'join the jigsaw pieces' and realise that they're transgender (like I mentioned in the birth defect part earlier in this post)
