[AMA] I am Arkansas Nootropics, ask me anything.

Towards the end of me closing, I was dealing with a guy in Texas who has a Cracked.com article about him blowing his leg off trying to chase a Mexican off his ranch. It turned out as he was dialing 911 to call the police the shotgun slipped and he blew one of his legs off. That's not so bad in itself, I mean, he's not me or you, right? Anyways, this cat forged, I guess in Photoshop, some PayPal receipts because we were doing "off-website" deals, mostly "I'll buy $200 worth of X, Y and Z if you give me 10% off", something like that. He forged all these PayPal receipts and I kept explaining I didn't see the transactions and (reluctantly) asked him to call PayPal. He kept saying PayPal said it was straight. You know, I wasn't the owner of the PayPal account the money was coming into. I (reluctantly) had my buddy call PayPal and they said the guy was blowing smoke up our asses. Luckily they didn't investigate too hard. The kid kept blowing me up for over a week and it was a messy ordeal.

I had a case where a guy had his package stolen off his doorstep, or so he claims. Then I reshipped using signature required and he wouldn't go pick up the package. That was strange too. He told me to refund him and Uncle Sam could pick up the tab. That's not how it works.

Trying to think of more...

I had a guy order $650 worth of stuff UPS Overnight. No big deal, I send it signature required/adult delivery and the credit card owner signed for it... or so I thought. He then ordered $1300 and I requested to see some ID. He provided it and I sent the damn package. It turned out it was his youngish grandmother (think 50s, buncha idiot baby producing farm people) and they did a chargeback. The thing is I had ID proof and signature and I still lost the chargeback. I called her bank raising hell and in the end, I dropped the issue because short of flying to Pennsylvania there was no recourse. Chalk it up to thieves who WILL get their karma one day.

I had a lot of sample seekers, website reviewers, beggars, just people who wanted something for free.
