Serious question: why post this? Do you really expect the person you want to be a Reddit user and actually show up in the comments to answer you?

I'm not condemning you, I've been struggling for years to understand the point of these requests. As far as I can tell there has NEVER been an instance of the person requested (when a specific person is asked for) showing up in the post and answering questions, not even when the person asked for is known to be on Reddit like Verne Troyer, Arnold Schwarzenegger or Peter Mayhew.

I know Reddit hates when people ask questions (for some reason), especially if they're critical of the site but I'm prepared to give up karma in exchange for an answer. Why is this here?
