This amazing drug dealer

People have the capacity for amazing acts of kindness, but an innate predisposition for putting themselves first. The majority of people will live their lives focused on themselves acting beyond that interest when issues are brought in front them (helping the homeless only when the see them on the street, helping charities after being affected by the issue the charity helps). I don’t say that to be pessimistic. People are constantly given opportunities to grow and change. We’re meant to move past the innate self-focus. And when that happens we excel.

I’d like to add that the self-focus can be used beneficially, as it let’s us prioritize certain things (since no single person has shown the ability to simultaneously solve all problems).
