The Amazing Race officially renewed for season 29 and 30!

Going against the grain here but as much as I disliked the Blind Date season, I actually think this season is worse. I've been a huge TAR fan although admittedly I haven't seen every season. (Didn't own a tv for a many years and I haven't been able to find all the seasons online- won't pay for watching them on the CBS app or I'm not sure how else to watch them).

I was sorta dreading this season when I heard about the cast, but it wasn't actually that bad. But it's not at all exciting. Besides Zach King and Tyler, I didn't know who anyone else was before the season started and now I still don't except for the DADDY girl and the mean dancer are the only teams that have any personality (for better or worse). Seemingly everyone here is all fans of the Burnie couple but I don't know anything about them and on the show they aren't that interesting. I thought the Vine Bros were a fun team but they got knocked out early.

I guess I just don't feel like I'm rooting for any of them. Definitely not Zach or Tyler and it's not necessarily because they are already famous (Tyler even more so) but it's just like watching a celebrity on TAR, I wouldn't want that at all (personally).

Also another reason I wasn't looking forward to it was I thought Tyler was uber annoying from the brief appearances of his I've seen but he is actually pretty nice and charming and not the attention whore I thought he would be.

Anyway the last couple episodes of this season I found myself tuning out and I don't even know who went home last. Even during the Blind Date season (which was a dumb idea) I watched every second. Someone said it before but maybe these teams really are trying to protect their image so much that everyone is pretty boring.

I'm looking forward to a new season with relatively normal type cast although I hope they branch out from their typical formula of dancer/cheerleader/otherwise athletic hot girl team, bro dude team, mother/son, team where one of them overcame/is dealing with a disability, parent who previously disapproved of their child team, team from another reality show.
