Amazon will pay $0 in taxes on $11,200,000,000 in profit for 2018

It wasn't profit though...

how much of their income are they re-investing into Amazon to spread/improve their business? right now they're making huge pushes to expand internationally which is only going to drive up revenue for them. eventually they will run out of places to expand.

this is the problem currently, if you want a business-model like this to succeed, how do you impose such large taxes on their revenue without looking at how much they're investing? shit is silly. if you owned a small business and made $40,000 in profit but spent $40,000 on shop upkeep and improvements, you would get a tax write off you ijjits. it works for all companies regardless of size, otherwise it would be impossible to grow/improve a business. imagine if we changed things and forced everyone to pay their tax regardless of how they spent that income, every huge corporation that stopped expanding/growing/improving would reap the benefits. you're rewarding the wrong business by doing that. we are encouraging Amazon to keep re-investing in their business which billions of people will heavily rely on in the near future. it is a small price to pay to improve the quality of life for the world and just because they're very successful doesn't mean we should change the tax system for every other business who isn't as popular but still want to improve.
