Amb Haley: If we are speaking honestly about conflict in the Middle East, we need to start with the chief culprit: Iran & Hezbollah.

If we are speaking honestly about conflict in the Middle East...

We need to start with three things.

  • 1) The problem of religious jurisprudence and politics which discriminates by sect (or the lack thereof).

  • 2) The flawed Foreign Policy of non-ME nations with regards to the Middle East.

  • 3) The history of interest-clashes and map making.

  • 4) The flawed home policies of non-ME countries with regards to people and organizations from the Middle East. The Middle East is absolutely not just "a bunch of dumb Muslim fundamentalists". This is an incredibly wrong view. To discriminatingly treat people from Middle Eastern (Muslim-majority) countries as a "Religious society/group" in the new country is wrong and gross thing to do. There are many people with many views. Their identity should not be denied but accepted. Secularism is not an exclusively Western thing. Nor is atheism, democracy, liberty and so on. Even Syria knows its atheists from Syrian Poet/Philosopher al-Ma'arri (whose statue was beheaded by al-Nusra) to the many atheists of today. Syria knows many subcultures and details.

  • 5) The Jihadist/Fundamentalist insurgency of so called "political Islam". Which is a force that can be considered the Kidnapper and corrupting propagandist of the Muslim people of today.
