you'd think they, of all people, would remember that.
You'd think that, but then these are most of the same people denying the virus and not caring that we've been having 9/11 levels of death from covid each day for many days since December. A few days here and there are under 3k but for the most part, each day covid hits us with a 9/11 death figure or more but these people still don't give a damn or care about it.
One joke theory I saw floated on here that I find amusing is that they don't really care about the loss of life all that much, but more so the actual destruction of the towers/property from 9/11. During all the protesting this summer, they didn't care that people of color were being killed by police, many of them just seemed to be upset about the property damage to all the businesses.
Maybe back then when 9/11 occurred, they were just less blatant and up front about it. Maybe it was just the images of the towers being struck, burning, and collapsing. Destroying a major center of business. If it were a pandemic, or some other sort of deadly event occurred that couldn't really be visually seen that killed nearly 3,000 people on the day of 9/11/01, would we even use a phrase like 9/11 at all? I don't think saying half the country is quite accurate, but an extremely vocal third, maybe two-fifths don't even give a shit about those types of death totals in a day now, would those same people care back then if the destructive images weren't sensualized?
Maybe they just had a bit more decency to pretend to care about human life because they certainly don't care too anymore. We've had 14 days since December 9th where we had a "9/11" body count. Topped 4k for the first time on the 7th but they don't seem to care. So maybe they do care about property damage more so then human life. Maybe if covid could physically "eat/erode" physical things, they'd actually start to take it seriously because it could start damaging their own personal property.
I don't know. I'm high as hell and just angry at these people lol. Sorry for ranting on you.
