American flag, others banned in UC Irvine student area

Ok, guys, for anyone who can read this, this is a statement from one of the non-voting members of the Associated student Body that this went through:

Hey guys, so I was present when the legislation passed (I'm a non voting member of Legislative Council, and disagreed highly with this piece of legislation), and since I have received a TON of messages from students (which is AWESOME by the way, I'm glad you guys care) I'm going to post what I've been telling everybody with regards to the legislation in order to hopefully eliminate some confusion (Be advised, its a lot of information). In the ASUCI main office, in the front, there used to be an American flag hanging, which was placed there by a piece of legislation from 2009 in order to honor veterans and ROTC students. However, someone took it down and placed it under an exec's door, with a note saying because they were "international students, it made them feel uncomfortable because of the symbol the american flag holds" ASUCI tried putting the flag back up, but it kept getting removed and according to members of leg council (who i'm not going to name, but the voting records are public) constituents told them it was making them uncomfortable. After trying to put the flag up again, and having it being taken down, an exec in ASUCI just took it down and this legislation was drafted. However, our ASUCI President, Reza Zomorrodian, disagreed with the decision and said he would try to get it vetoed at the Executive branch meeting on Saturday. However here's the thing: UCI is the only UC where the president CAN NOT veto. 3 out of the 5 members of ASUCI's Executive branch (which is the President and four VPs) must agree to veto it as well. Hope this clears up some of the confusion, and if you have any more questions, feel free to message me or anybody else on ASUCI's Legislative Council or Executive Branch.
