American Gods - 2x01 "House on the Rock" (TV Only Discussion)

Really? Because that almost ruined the series for me.

From what I can understand these are not THE Gods, as in this isn't THE Odin. It is AN Odin, and presumably there is another back in Norway and maybe one in Iceland. Hence why he has an American Accent and only seems to care about Gods in America as opposed to just going home and rebuilding his religion.

These are the modern results of centuries of dying religions and lost worship.

Seeing them backstage felt like the show saying that they really are powerful and divine, and that they just hide it on Earth.

The scene in the diner felt like what the meeting was supposed to be, and I would have loved it if that's what it was. The whole "backstage" segment was a little hokey for me especially when the closest we got to that in S1 was Odin appearing in the clouds when he named himself.
