The same logic can apply to NP and PA’s. There are tons of nice ones who probably don’t overstep either. But it’s the “oh the ones I have met are fine” kind of logic that got doctors and residents to be facing this midlevel problem now. Anesthesiologists Assistants support the ACT model and can ONLY work under physicians. It’s a much safer bet for physicians to place their trust in a group who isn’t trying to switch to the DNP by 2025 to be called doctors. I’m glad your experience with them hasn’t been negative.

We all know the main issue stems from their “governing” body and organizations that overstep and are malignant. However, I have seen CRNA’s who have told potential students not to talk about the ACT model if they want to get into CRNA school. Even the schools are encouraging independent practice and making a stubborn new generation of providers who think their skills are on par with a physicians.
