American "Pakistani" curious about what Pakistanis think about my observations.

The god like reverence for the english language, the incessant desire to move to western countries rather than fix the one your living in, the blind importation of western philosophies (irregardless of their context), and I even once saw Pakistani shopping centers running black friday sales which makes utterly no sense since Pakistanis dont celebrate christmas as the christian pop. is less than 1%. Yet whatever western countries do it seems Pakistanis run after it. Its always interesting to talk to Pakistanis that move to the USA, and its somewhat amusing to see their reactions. The moment they find out the roads here aren't paved with gold. Also when the realize how muslims here are actually more educated and practicing than the ones back home.

Imagine a German trying to mock another German for not being able to speak English fluently? Only in India and Pakistan. Even Indian/Pakistani award shows are in English, how much of our population actually speaks English? How many of the movies they are handing out awards for are in English? This is just an example, i think the award shows including the oscars are stupid.

Instead of promoting our own culture and heritage, we blindly follow the West. 80% of it is our own fault and 20% of it is American soft power. Because i know even countries in West are affected by USA. Like people in countries who don't have a culture of celebrating halloween are starting to celebrate it more and more.
