American of Pakistani descent. AMA.

  1. I live in Long Island, NY. The town I live in is about an hour and a half away from NYC. I’d say I like it. There’s little crime, it’s clean, and after all-it’s home.

  2. Trump’s immigration policies are coming down hard. I had one of my closest friends see his dad deported. However, I have not noticed an increase or decrease in anti-Muslim or anti-Pakistani feelings. They’re still the same, and the same is pretty bad in some parts.

  3. I always used to say that I love visiting Pakistan, not living in it. There’s a couple things about Pakistani society that irk me. I was once berated by an old guy for wearing shorts. As far as I know, nothing in the Quran indicates that a male can’t wear shorts in public. In America, my imam doesn’t have a problem with it. Of course, I cover myself up for namaaz. I don’t like the power outages shit either. But I love visiting to see family, and I do love a lot about Pakistani culture.

  4. Naan kebab rolls.

  5. Yes they do, but never with me or my sisters. My mom does yell at me in Punjabi when she’s mad at me, but only then. I understand some of what she’s saying.

  6. Not in a relationship, my parents are strict on that. I wouldn’t mind marrying a girl from Pakistan. However, I put personal success as a priority over relationships.
