Americans are one of the friendliest and generous people on earth

I mean I'll upvote you for it because it is indeed an unpopular opinion... but American "donations" are often a farce.

You have no idea how much of it is through religious organizations that use that money to "help" people in impoverished nations find Jesus. Sure they might install a well when they're on a missions trip. Poorly, in a bad location so that it's next to the church they build with that donation money.

If you were to remove donations through religious entities from the equation their generosity would drop to the same levels as any other nation, I'm sure.

That said, most of the people I interact with online are American and by and large y'all are people just like anywhere else. Some good ones. Some bad ones. Lots in between.

But I implore anyone reading, if you want to help people in impoverished nations, DO NOT donate to religious organizations.
