Do you think Americans are too inwards looking and don't care/ are largely ignorant about the rest of the world?

Speaking 100% from personal experience, when one of your relatives join the MAGA Cult -

There was that day where I thought we were having a perfectly innocent conversation about curry, which was the day where I found out that all conversations are about the cult leader for them. (Quite pathetic really if you think about it.)

So when I said that I really hate bell peppers and need to be more diligent about asking restaurants to hold them, MAGA cult relative got angry and told me off for disrespecting the cult leader. No, it couldn't possibly be that I really hate bell peppers because they're hard and waxy on the outside while being soft and squishy on the inside. It couldn't possibly be because serving them to me is just 100% food waste.

In case you're wondering why I would even talk to MAGA relatives in the first place, it was entirely to keep tabs on them and make sure that they're not joining any insurrections. They had a very rare self-aware moment during the one in January as ten minutes into it, they phoned to make sure that everyone in my household knew that they were all still in Minnesota where they belonged and had not traveled outside their state.
