Americans of Being Diabetic - how do you pay for medical supplies and how much does it cost?

With insurance: $90 per insulin prescription (3 months), needle tips and as many test strips as the doctor will prescribe are $0. Also supplement with a 2nd travel meter from Walmart ($18 for 100). And a Dexcom was $45/month as prescription, but they changed it to medical so it is ($500 deductible and $1500 out of pocket).

Without insurance, my over the counter costs for 3 months would be like over $2000 for the insulin, $100-150 for needle points, and I would just use the Walmart test strips about 6/day, whatever that adds up to. And Dexcom is $600-700 for the each transmitter I think they said, and $100 for each sensor (10-21 days). Other stuff is relatively cheap or infrequent — alcohol swabs $1/box; $11 for 50 Leto e strips; $20 I think for Dexcom skin-tac.
