Americans, have you ever experience a 'Culture Shock' in your own country?

The secret is to be miserable no matter what.
If I'm in the city then it drives me nuts that everyone is in such a damn hurry--even if there's traffic and none of us are going anywhere. The concrete and so many people--sometimes I just desperately want a breath of fresh air.
When I finally get out to the country I'm sad that I have no cell reception, they don't have my favorite foods available (hell, everything is far away). I feel like I'm so far from everything.
So that's how I do it.
(actually I like the city just fine--the real secret is to carve out a space that feels like your own--favorite, small bars to go, etc. but all the people are overwhelming for everyone)
