Americans that moved to different states, what was your reasoning?

Born in Los Angels, California. I have lived in California, New York, Texas, Michigan. I have visited more than half the US as well.

I mean, why not? The world is big, as is my country, why stay in one place? Each place I have lived and visited has had something amazing and wonderful to recomend it.

Currently I live in Northern Michigan surrounded by State and National Forests, and Lake Michigan. I live in a place that looks like a vacation spot, without having to pay the high cost of living that places like California and New York are infamous for.

I honestly feel a bit bad for people that never leave the town they grew up in. Not even move away, just take a road trip, explore this amazing country we live in
