The Americans on this show.

To be fair, I think people from a lot of countries do this, not just Americans, especially where there is a strong sense of patriotism. For example, there is a television program in Korea about Koreans married to foreigners and it shows the relationship between the mother in law and non-Korean daughter in law. It's common to see the mother in law insult the daughter in law's food, discourage her from speaking her first language to her children, encourage the daughter in law to do everything the "Korean way." It drives me crazy, too, but I don't think it's just an American problem, although it definitely comes across that way with some of the 90 day couples.
