Americans of Reddit, why do you like your country? Or why not?

I disagree. It's still a very young country.

There has been vast progression in the area I grew up in. It was a very different place in the 90s, and now it's on a better track. It's only a small part of the country, but it shows hope.

As the country progresses overall, the people who want to stay in the past become louder and more destructive. It's very ugly right now because of this, but it's only a matter of time before their way of thinking dies out. People from younger generations are often appalled by their bigoted parents and grandparents, and they're aspiring to be better. I think things will be very different in about 40-50 years, when the people being born today are in positions of power in government.
