Americans of reddit, what do you think about US health care system?

Incredibly complicated to navigate. I am in my mid thirties and don’t have a primary care physician. They are your gateway into the healthcare system. I kind of understand how to go about getting one; I guess I need to call around and schedule a physical. Except I am very healthy, why would I waste the money it is sure to cost on a physical that will tell me I am fine? Then what if I don’t like said doctor, do I have to schedule more unnecessary physicals to find one I like? But, if I actually have something wrong with me, no doctor will actually have room in their schedule for an appointment in a reasonable time frame to diagnose and treat said problem. So, I don’t have a PCP. I use planned parenthood for my gynocologist, because it is accessible. You need an appointment? Then schedule one. Boom, done. I have a dentist and a therapist I love. I got lucky with my therapist, she is the only one who called me back when I was looking, had an opening in her schedule, and is amazing. When I have been ill or injured in the past I go to a decent urgent care.

As far as insurance goes I am very lucky to have absolutely amazing coverage through the marketplace. I am self employed, and this is the only way I am able to have insurance. I have no idea why anyone criticizes the marketplace, aka the affordable care act, aka Obamacare.

The long and short of it is that I feel like my ability to access healthcare is extremely limited and if something were to actually go wrong then I would be at a huge disadvantage by my ignorance of how to interact with the medical system.
