Americans of Reddit, What is your State's Stereotype?

This practice used to infuriate me but I've come to realize that the Statie's behavior here is providing a service.

Masssachsetts is a tiny landmass with a ton of drivers and yes most of us are in a hurry.

I've seen someone on route 3 North traveling 65(not 50 or anything, 65) in the left lane get stuck traveling next to the person in the right lane also traveling 65.

Right lane guy felt that they didn't have to move because well "Fahhhk you, I'm already in the right lane", left lane guy might have tried to move but they couldn't gather up the courage to get their car to the minimum speed of 72 that it would take to pass right lane guy and join him in the right lane.

This went on for miles and within minutes a traffic line developed out of seemingly nowhere that looked like if Sauron decided to outfit his horde with Hondas and SUV's and attack Boston. Cars can be seen for miles back with me directly behind left lane guy (I even tried to slow down to the point where left lane guy could sneak unceremoniously slink into the right lane but he wouldn't take it!)

Eventually I found the opening to pass in between these two cars and before you call me a jerk for passing on the right literally 5 cars directly behind me pulled the same aggressive maneuver and the roads were once again balanced. If I was in the giant Statie SUV there's no way this awkward freeway dance would have lasted 500 ft.

I's annoying when the cops barrel down the highways but it keeps people like left lane guy from mindlessly moseying down the passing lane thereby reducing gridlock for the people behind them and making the roads safer.

Cheers Speeding Staties!

TLDR: Some folks need to learn that the left lane is for passing and sometimes it takes police intimidation to teach them.
