Americans do you want universal healthcare? Why/why not?

I don’t think a universal health system, if well-constructed and not watered down by conflicting lobbies, would necessarily be corrupted by historical for-profit culture once in place.

I think that getting to a true universal health system is the hard part. The impact of ACA, for example, was severely whittled down by major lobbies.

In my opinion, until popular support is louder than the wallets of corporate lobbies/PACs, we won’t get a proper universal health system in place. But, if we can get there, I think it will be successful, because the average American doesn’t really benefit from the way our current health system is constructed. Most people are one medical bill or job loss away from bankruptcy.

I think what’s holding us back is a combination of crony capitalism, voter apathy, and inflammatory rhetoric.
