NOPE!!!!
It doesn't matter at all!!!!! In my opinion, the only purpose of having citizens vote is just to have a record of what the citizens preferred for history textbooks. If our votes actually mattered, Trump wouldn't be president since the people voted for Hilary. But, that's just how the US system works, the working citizens get to show the higher ups what they want, but the higher ups can still choose someone else. Meaning our votes dont mean shit except to show history textbooks the difference between what the people of america want vs what the government of america chooses
For example, in history class, we learn about the presidents who didnt win the vote with the citizens but still were elected into office. They always say "the people voted for x, but y still became president. The vote was nearly 50/50, showing that america was divided during this time"
Votes are only important for historical reporting purposes.
