America's Got Talent's Simon Cowell Donates Over $32.6K to Shut Down South Korean Dog Meat Farm

Dogs are not "any meat."

Livestock animals have been bred over thousands and thousands of years to emphasize those traits most conducive to being our food. It's the entire means by which they exist... there is no niche in nature for livestock. If all the cows were released tomorrow, most would end up dead (wolf populations would be funny to look at), maybe a few % survive and evolution does it's thing and you have bison-ish descendants or whatever that remain.

Now dogs, during those last many thousand years, have been extensively selected for the traits that make them excellent friends of humanity. Ever since the first wolf nervously approached the campfire and was tossed a scrap of bison, those canines have been our friends. A relationship older than written language (maybe language period), older than agriculture, older than beer. These are some of humanities oldest most true friends.

So yea, anyone that says "wow, interesting how dogs see us as members of their pack, maybe I can exploit that trust and get some to follow me to a farm where I'll then beat them to death to improve the quality of my erection" is a despicable person and worthy of the disgust of any civilized human.
