Editing is such a fascinating thing to consider in and of itself, most of the time you are seeing GOOD fucking editing because you dont notice it and you're immersed in the story and/or the cinematography, but sometimes theres bad edits even in an otherwise great film or show and it just takes you out of it and if its REALLY bad you actually ask, what were they thinking leaving it in? And it can be such a glaring and obvious problem because it can literally mean that the narrative has been spliced in a way that effects the ability to understand it or to appreciate it as itself, like when theres a continuity error but more often it's just a matter of the subtle differences in the ways we expect our narratives to be told, it's almost a social activity, as when you encounter really really bad editing like Bohemian Rhapsody or Suicide Squad and it causes a palpable cringe feeling....
