As an American and an Atheist, I'm pretty jealous of Singapore's pledge of allegiance

Most students would fear and hate him. Only later in life, when these students look back would they appreciate his strictness and how he directly affected their lives. Successful students would love and respect him. The school dropouts would hate and loathe him for life. I felt he did not understand the big picture and the fact that some sacrifices(freedomwise) had to be made to ensure the prosperity of the country. This could have led to social unrest. Temporary social unrest is somehow worse then being reamed by your government on a daily base.

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety".

It's actually making me sick to my stomach that you are being upvoted. Cowardly worker drones are like you are the reason Asia has been so slow with catching up to human rights. Don't you understand we don't need paternalistic dictators like LKY because we're smart enough to make those decisions on our own?

Asia has been lagging behind the world on human rights because scumbags like LKY scare sheep like you into thinking they will be riots and "social unrest" if all members of society can have their say. That's why Hong Kong brushed off the protests last year. That's why the Qatari's can literally own slaves without anyone challenging them. That's why the governments in India, Pakistan, Thailand, China, Iran, etc treat the lowest members of society like garbage without anyone challenging them. This cowardly ideology beaten into us from a young age that the nail that sticks out will get hammered down. Well fuck that bullshit. If we're ever going to mature and distinguish ourselves as leaders, it will be through abandoning faulty superstitions and taking responsibility for our own lives instead of having the government herd us like sheep.

Say what you will about the West but they know their rights and they fucking fight for them. All Asians can do, regardless of the country, is whimper and hide until things blow over. It's why we'll always be number two. You are a disgrace.

Contrary to my above comments, I am neither pro-government no anti-government. There are a lot of laws and rules that are in place that I do not agree with. Especially those that affect my life personally and prevent me from doing the things I want to do. On the other hand, I understand why these laws are in place.

So you "understand" the logic of laws but lack the courage to go against them. Congratulations, you have the basic political comprehension of any random person on the street but no personal convictions or ideals. You are a sheep and a coward. Not to mention you write like a spastic. Considering how often Singapore brags about it's perfect educational system, you don't have an excuse.

Look up this link, you're a textbook case. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome

Rant over but I hope you take some time to reflect.
