An analysis on why the 3D entries in the series aren't up to the level of quality expected from the 2D entries

GameFreak did make dungeons in 3D back in the ODS gens, The "Tile-sets" were made from 3D planes and they still make caves the same way as lego-like blocks which is the industry standard. While the complexity of the games development has gone up, Development time has not which is not healthy and that's when cut corners arise. That's what happened to the Assassin's Creed franchise because of Ubisoft and and their Greedy BS that's what's happening with SwSh with TPC. I cannot think of a single Development team that can output games on a yearly basis. But here's the thing, Ubisoft rescinded their stance to get a new AC game out every year because people saw the drop in quality as a result of the yearly games and stopped buying them, but the same is not happening for Pokemon and TPC is just running with it because of course they are! imagine if you got paid the same for doing less at work because your supervisors didn't notice. Why stop being lazy until they notice?

The problem isn't 3D, it's GameFreak and TPC being greedy because they know they can get away with it. Stop making excuses for GameFreak and treating them like a small indie company with half brain dead workers that can't keep up with the rest of the industry, they have some absolutely brilliant people working for them but because of TPC's BS they can't make an amazing pokemon game because they know they don't have to in order to smash sales records and that's all TPC cares about.
