An apology from CD Projekt co-founder for a great Cyberpunk 2077 console launch

My pre-order copy has been in its shrink wrap since Dec 10th.

After seeing this video I contacted Amazon Executive Relations about getting it refunded.

Refunding it manually has been problematic because Amazon (UK) split their pre-order version into a bundle. You buy Cyberpunk (PS4) for £49.99 and get two order confirmations. One for the game worth £26.54. One for the postcards worth £23.45.

So no matter whether I try to refund manually or via one of the Dilbert's manning Customer Service live chat, they only want to refund £26.54 or give me a replacement.

Hopefully Executive Relations will resolve the problem and I'll get the £49.99 back.

I've always come out in support of pre-ordering (even after the AC: Unity fiasco) because I believe developers need them to justify investing in ambitious new games and continuing existing franchises.

After WD:Legion and this however, I have hit my breaking point.

My decision to no longer pre-order is meaningless in terms of applying pressure to these companies because they know that for every pre-order loyalist they lose, three brand new gamers will come along who aren't yet disillusioned by the process.

It's disappointing that I will no longer get to play exciting new games and my favourite new franchises on day one, but game developers and publishers can no longer be trusted imo. With WD:Legion and Cyberpunk 2077 they have hit lows I never thought were possible.

I wasn't so pessimistic that I ever thought I would be paying full whack for games that are worse than many Early Access games I've played.
