An argument against Avatar: The Way of Water

It’s only invalid with an extremely narrow scope of history.

First- White Indigenous people where colonized and displaced by other White people.

What about the Ottomans, the Mongols, the Corsairs? Muslim expansion into the Balkans created severe ethnically charged divisions that still affect the region today.

Native Americans on the other hand didn’t go out and conquer White tribes.

There was plenty of conquering, enslaving and brutalizing between tribes that predated European settlers. The Blackfoot were the initial destructive force, moving westward from the Rockies and devouring others along the way. Read about the Comanches too. Ethnic cleansing is ethnic cleansing.

…the indigenous people who are speaking out against this movie are expressing they don’t feel included.

Some indigenous people may feel that way, but that doesn’t mean it’s about them. No one people can claim exclusive rights to human suffering or dictate who can/not tell those stories.
