An employee tax?

It’s because people who don’t want kids aren’t allowed to “you do you” on a daily basis like people who do want kids. Are lots of people on that sub bitter? Yes, but having your life choices criticized on a daily basis can do that.

I’m unable to find a doctor who will let me get sterilized because “your husband might want kids” and am frequently told my PhD is a waste of time because “you won’t end up using it once you have kids”. Don’t get me started on how frequently I’m told to my face that I’m only in the program so the university can meet some diversity quota.

Pile on the fact that even my democratic politicians think family leave, education, and childcare are women’s issues (I was curious if you thought I deserved control over my own body or equal pay but apparently woman=mommy to you) and how powerful women are reduced to “wife” or “mother” instead of “Doctor”, “Professor”, “Scientist”, etc.

Maybe a better person than me could let that all roll off my back but that sub is the only place where childfree people can go without worrying about encountering all the bullshit I mentioned above. Some people in the sub take it too far but some people in every community take things too far. I don’t judge all parents based on the Duggers. Unless you’re actively fighting against all the bullshit childfree people in general but particularly women face so that they can “you do you”, leave them be in one of the few places that’s currently possible.
