it's an endless fight - some may know what i mean

Draw anyway.

It is so great to have goals to improve. And you aren’t going to hit your goals for a long time. And when you do you’ll make new goals. Drawing, painting, art is about the journey.

My teachers always say to me “let nothing be precious”. You may spend 10 hours perfecting and eye only to hate it. Don’t worry about the result. As you said you are already drawing again and again. It is the pursuit that is beautiful and the results will take care of themselves.

Creating art for other people to be impressed by, art for others based on what you think they want to see, that is going to hurt you all the time. Certainly have an idea of what YOU want your work to look like and pursue those skills, but don’t fear the failure.

It can be frustrating to not see improvement. I don’t know what sort of drawing you’re doing, but if you are drawing from life or anything realistic I would suggest learning how to block in proportions correctly. http://www.theryderstudio.com/instruction/the-block-in.html

The very first image in the examples on this page is something you can spend an entire month learning. It’s all about those relationships.

I just shared because that method has helped me a great deal. Completely transformed my drawing abilities. You may have other resources that are right for you.

Draw anyway. Draw for fun. If you are frustrated switch to a new type of drawing or artmaking. Perfection does not exist. Focus on the journey. Just draw.

I know these words can be pretty much useless when you’re frustrated, but on the other side of frustration is maybe a better place. Take a break if you need and then get back to it. :)
