I guess the question is, do you think it's realistic to prevent all healthcare workers from acquiring this illness until a vaccine is developed? I had PPE and still got it, I was just lucky enough to not get seriously ill.

Let's say there is completely adequate PPE in every hospital and he still got it, and was one of the people with the misfortune to get a serious case. Does that change your view on the situation?

Also, the reason that these are concentrated in NYC is the sheer number of healthcare workers getting exposed to the sheer number of patients. It's a statistical certainty that more of the cases will be in NYC given the numbers of infected there and the close quarters.
