Have an essay due on David Benatar's "Never to have been". Figured this would be the best place to ask a question regarding it.

#1 Why does it matter missing out on pleasures if you were never conceived? it doesn't. Pleasures that someone who never existed have no value.

#2 Why does it matter if you are conceived and experience suffering then die? it matters because you were thrust into this stupid fucking existence by someone elses will and suffered pain. Suffering is a value, it matters, and this is morally wrong.

Suffering is not made up for with some pleasures along the way, because of #1. Most sentient beings experience nothing but suffering. Your taste buds being satisfied do not justify any suffering. Your happiness with stupid gadgets made by Chinese slaves does not justify the suffering. The world is an evil, horrible place.

Those are my thoughts.
