An Evidence-Based Critique of Anti-GMO and Pro-Organic Arguments

The problem is that the various kinds of GMO are all conflated. The first is cross-breeding type of GMO; which people have been doing for centuries. The second is the introduction of viral vectors, such as Bt Cotton etc., which have been pretty prevalent and pretty much standard. The third kind is the kind where cross species genetic vectors (like the infamous fish gene in tomatoes); which is something that spooks people. Problem is that all of these get lumped into one group: GMO. I have no problems with the first two kinds. I am not so confident of the epigenetic effects of the third kind long term. If given the choice; I would not consume these products.
