It baffles me why so many people interested in questions about mind/consciousness are so reluctant to develop a working knowledge of what science has revealed about our physical brain. Most the the discussions of mind in historical religions are basing those discussions on the science of those times. We gravitate to those historical 'scientific' systems while intently rejecting our own. A prophet has no honor in their own house, we always reject what is most familiar it seems.
