An open letter from your mods

Several questions:

  1. Do the mods profit from Okswing?

  2. Doesn't operating this subreddit as well as Okswing create a conflict of interest? How are we supposed to reasonably expect you to remain neutral if members of this community criticize it or recommend other new websites that could potentially steal traffic from your own?

  3. Do the mods profit from referrals from the Amazon links on the sidebar?

  4. Will you specifically respond to /u/sleepcomeseventually 's arguments and criticisms in his post here?

  5. Why did you remove his link several times? It did not contain any personal information, name any members of the community specifically, or harass any members of the community. The only reasonable explanation is that you simply did not like what he had to say.

  6. Would you be open to adding a new mod to the mod team who has no stake in Okswing. This would ensure a neutral person with no conflict of interest would also be moderating this community.

Several suggestions:

  1. In reference to, "A link to every site in existence on the sidebar?" What if sidebar sites were determined by the community. The community votes on which sites it thinks it deserves to be on the sidebar. Every 3 months, a new poll is held. This would help get rid of any conflict of interest.

  2. Adding a new mod with no conflict of interest with the mod's spinoff swing websites. The community votes on who they think the new mod should be.

  3. In reference to "If people think that is some sort of conflict if interest, we can take down the link," refer to suggestions 1 and 2.
