So by Kavanaugh's logic, a POTUS doesn't have to account for putting himself in compromising or precarious legal positions to begin with. As for the burdens that dealing with resultant legal matters would place upon a POTUS, perhaps American presidents could/would think about the possible or even probable consequences of getting caught engaging in such shady activities before acting on any urges to do so. In any case, the US of A doesn't need someone who thinks (and has left a paper trail of those thoughts) that the POTUS is above the law sitting as a justice on the bench of the highest court in the land, especially given the orange rogue who currently occupies the Oval Office.
