I expect the slow pacing is what a lot of people aren't a fan of. And of course as a reminder before anyone gets mad on the internet slow does not equal bad, it's just the speed of the plot. Baseball is a slow sport, hockey is fast, people can enjoy both.

For me personally part of the reason I wouldn't put it too high is because it's set at a time period (as well as being a prequel to R1) where we already know the outcome of everything. So they're slowly drip feeding us this interesting character/world building while we tip toe through the plot, but we already know how it all goes.

A star wars show written and treated like this but full of new characters at a different time so there was real tension and the audience didn't know the outcomes would pull in a lot more people I feel.
