The dirty little secret is the Colts have been a clownshow since day 1 of the Luck era.

It wasnt any different back when Luck was bailing out that bad roster to 11-5 seasons in a trash AFC South. Between the Trent Richardson trade(and Indy's steadfast commitment to feeding him despite how awful he was), the trash O lines, teh poor game plans that had Luck execute 7 step drop after 7 step drop with that O line, repeatedly sucking against hte same opponents(ie Pitt and NE), and repeatedly coming out flat to play with Chuck Pagano rinse and repeat saying "Yeah that's on me I didnt get the guys ready today" incompetence has ruled in Indy.

This is by and large the same type of roster the Colts have had since 2012. Colts fans get overly sensitive about this statement and miss the point; the names on some of hte jerseys might be different, the overall product isnt. Now days a solid young defensive front 7 player might be Henry Anderson instead of Jerrell Freeman as an ex. But this is still overall the same product; a team with a poor O line, no real running game and a complete lack of talent across the board on defense.

Theyve repeatedly relied on Luck to bail them out of awful circumstances. Back when he was healthy in 2012-14 and in a joke of an AFC south he could do enough to manage and bail out the clownshow. But that's not a sustainable model at all and that's what these past 3 seasons have shown.
