I don't think you're correct. UBI solves the economic problem of allocating the produced resources amongst the populace. If we collectively own all the fruits of production, we can't all have all of it. We can each have a portion of it.

So should we just give everyone an equal share of everything? That's stupid, because people have different preferences in what goods they want. The best option is to give everyone a token of some kind which can be redeemed for goods equal to their share of the total production. That token is money, paid out as UBI..
