Either the Democrats or Republican parties could feasibly incorporate it in to their policy platform

These would be radically different visions of what UBI might be though. If the Republican talk about replacing EBT with loot crates full of government cheese is any indicator, their version of UBI would be intentionally degrading and likely used only as an excuse to gut or privatize existing social programs.

Establishment democrats wouldn't do much better, but if enough pressure were applied from the left, they might make some actual concessions like they are starting to on healthcare.

In either case, the only humane and truly universal plan would have to come from the left, specifically from socialists even if UBI doesn't address their larger concerns about ownership of production.
