Anger, Personal Growth, and Melee as an Art Form

You mentioned how melee is an art form and that you feel so drawn to falco, so I guess I'll add to that a little bit with some random stuff I thought of recently (you said you encourage us to share experiences here but this experience is sorta unrelated so idk sorry if it's too off topic).

So I was watching that new movie Creed (great movie btw, I love comparing melee to boxing), and during the movie my mind started wandering off about melee and how I had so much trouble fighting against peach. Since I was also thinking about boxing at the time, I guess I kind of combined the two and started looking at melee as though I was falco (like in a 1st person point of view kind of way), and my mind was kinda blown. Like, for some reason thinking about fighting in melee as if you are literally in the character's shoes makes concepts like stage control and options so much more visible to me. If I imagine myself being cornered on FD against a peach that's floating maybe 3 character lengths away from me, I can see how there is so much pressure in that situation, I see how I can't just run backwards because then I'm offstage. It feels like I'm being pushed up against a wall even though there is no wall. I can look at peach floating there and know everything she can do as a response to what I do. Everything just seems so much more natural and clear to me this way. (Although, dash dancing wouldn't really make sense in this scenario since you wouldn't be able to see what the other character is doing when you dash away... I guess you just have to assume you have some sort of crazy 6th sense or something haha.)

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that looking at the game through different perspectives and I guess just kind of using your imagination can really change the way you see the game, which I think is really fascinating. Also I'm gonna pre-john in case this post makes zero sense, it's pretty late and I'm really tired right now so yeah idk.

To respond to the actual topic, I think it's good that you're taking action to fix your flaws and I think it's sick that melee can function as a medium to improve as a person.
