I haven't read the article or responses and don't really care to, so I can't speak to that (I don't put much stock into anonymous Internet comments as barometers of public opinion anyhow). I will say, however, that just because someone doesn't like you doesn't mean that they're jealous. I know I got really irritated with people telling me all the time how awesome SF was when I absolutely hated it. Yeah, it's awesome for you because you work for a giant tech company that shuttles you to work and enables you to afford a $5K/month apartment (or you have rent control). Meanwhile I live in Oakland, pay more than half my salary to live in a shitty one bedroom when I can't go outside without being harassed, and have an hour and a half commute each way every day. It wasn't jealousy, because I love my job and wouldn't want to do anything else, but it would piss me off because people would get personally offended when I didn't say that the Bay Area was the greatest place in the world. And being patronizing and insulting to people who live outside the bay doesn't help.

Anyhow we've gotten waaaaaay off topic and I'll stick to talking about free agency from now on :D
