The Anguished Man

It's even creepier with backstory. Allegedly, the artist of this piece was a disturbed man who mixed his own blood into the paint, and killed himself shortly after finishing it.

The painting fell into the hands of a man after he inherited it from his grandmother. He was told it'd previously been kept under lock-and-key due to odd things happening around the painting when it was displayed - most notably a dark shadowy figure making random appearances. The grandson didn't believe the stories and displayed the painting, only to experience similar events himself. He, like his grandmother, immediately locked the painting away and to this day refuses to exhibit it.

There's lots of fakes circulating around (people trying to make a buck by selling a 'haunted' painting) but the grandson is vehement that he owns the original copy and adheres to his desire to never show the painting to the public.

This may all be bullshit of course. It's just what I read on the internet once. Would the internet lie to me? ..probably
