Animal Crossing desperately needs MORE content

I would like to add my thoughts into this As someone who has played Animal Crossing games since I was 6 (I’m 19 now) I find that taking things a lot slower reduces boredom or burnout that comes with the game. When I played New Leaf I only put around 400ish hours in over a 7 year period of time and I loved that game even to this day - I don’t know about Wild World, City Folk or the others as I don’t have the total times for those.

However with New Horizons I now have 400+ hours since the game was first released and to me I also feel that I’m done with the game - my town layout is complete, I’m satisfied with my villagers, I have enough money and NMT for everything. Nevertheless I have not completed the museum nor the catalogue and I haven’t collected all of the recipes yet (but that takes a long time anyway without time travel). I’ve also taken part in every event apart from my birthday and other events that have not taken place yet. I’ve sped through it too fast even without time travel and I think there’s enough content so far. I like the gradual introduction of different concepts and events as it prevents spoilers and makes the game exciting when something new is revealed!

Additionally I found that there was less pressure to make my town look beautiful in the previous games as I wasn’t engaging in the online community at all, where as for New Horizons I feel that I have to have dozens of fancy waterfalls or aesthetically pleasing layouts for my island to be complete. I feel that there is a more competitive side to it now which could also lead to boredom or frustration. Regarding the online community it also feels like a lot of people are rushing through this game too fast; heck today I got spoiled for New Year’s Eve through screenshots and a video! And that wasn’t even intentional as it popped up on my Facebook feed. People can play the game at their own pace and time travel if they like - they just shouldn’t complain about a lack of content if they do so.

For OP - take a break from the game for a while and if there’s an event (if you’re in northern there’s a bug off this Saturday and I don’t think there’s anything happening in the Southern Hemisphere) try it out and see if it piques your interest again :) or play the game when you feel ready again

(I’m sorry for the long response I struggle to make my messages concise! I’m also sorry if it wasn’t helpful at all)
