Animal Farm by George Orwell made my day today

I'm a lifelong equestrian. I've been around horses for twenty-six years now. I'm a professional horse trainer. When I was much younger, eight or nine-ish, my mother's boyfriend at the time bought me Animal Farm (the movie) in an attempt to get me to like him. He handed me a movie, endorsed it as "it's about animals that can talk and has horses in it", and they left me alone to watch it.

About the time that they loaded Boxer up to haul him to slaughter is about the time that I realized I never had and never would like that guy.

It was mandatory reading in eighth grade too, and while I get the parallels and the point that he was making, I'm still not a fan.
