I actually did just try to research this and there is evidence they get a catnip like effect from it but I wouldn’t read any further into them that and I don’t see that as special considering there’s many species of plants that do that to cats. I couldn’t find any actual evidence that supported that they trip, and the only claims were as dubious as you would expect.

All the other species I was already aware of their habits of intoxication but the jaguar one I think it’s more like catnip. Having kinda accidentally once seen a cat tripping on mushrooms (I may have had a vet kind of obsessed with them who broke into a dehydrator to snag one while I was having supper with my wife, had to later drill a hole in the lid to install locks on it, that was the learning experience that it was a thing we had to worry about, he’s also obsessed with bread and yeast) I can guarantee you that the leopard in the video isn’t tripping.
