anime fans what ruins an anime for you?

Outside of substantial elements related to the actual storytelling and whatnot, I can't stand bland color schemes or convoluted art design/aesthetics. I know this is stupid and shallow, but it be how my brain do.

Here's how it's supposed to work: You got a main character whose signature color is something warm like orange or red (Goku, Kenshin, Naruto, Inuyasha, Luffy, and etc), then a sidekick whose color is blue (Vegeta, Saito, Sasuke, Miroku, Hiei, Kuwabara, and etc), and then every other side character also gets a unique color.

I don't actively pursue anime, but I used to see a lot of it in passing because my sister would watch it, and I can't stand it when the cast of characters just blur into rainbow vomit when they all stand next to each other. I can't recall specific shows, but I've seen so many where there's like 7 guys with green, purple, and orange, and 3 guys with blue, green, and yellow, just every combination you can imagine.

And on top of that they've all got super complicated outfits blending aesthetics from every conceivable culture and time period. Characters will have like seven belts, a knight's helm, a kilt, a monocole, and a pegleg, like purposefully goofy meme-builds in an RPG videogame.
