By season 2 did you mean part 2 of season 4?

I respectfully disagree, because right from the very first episode of part 2, they managed to capture the dark tone and grittiness of the show, by adding new scenes that weren't in the manga to make it really feel like a battlefield, like that one Yeagerist who was using his cables to choke someone out.

I find the CGI more bearable especially on certain shoes with the Armoured and Jaw. They also dialed up the gore way more than I expected, within the realms of what was allowed on TV. And finally, the scene of everyone freezing in time, watching how everything was going down in the midst of battle, while Eren's head went flying was just perfect
